HC Deb 18 July 1893 vol 14 c1915

Bill considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

MR. TOMLINSON (Preston)

said, he had an Amendment down to omit certain words, and he should be glad to hear from the right hon. Gentleman the Postmaster General (Mr. A. Morley) an explanation which might suffice to meet his views. The right hon. Gentleman was aware of the object he had in view, and he would ask him whether it was to be provided that cases should be shifted from a tribunal selected by the parties to the Railway Commissioners? It was hardly fair if such a power was to exist.

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. A. MORLEY, Nottingham, E.)

said, the application of the words would be to very few cases under the Parcels Post Act. He could promise that he would consider the views of the hon. Gentleman, and see if any alteration was necessary.

Bill reported, without Amendment.

MR. A. MORLEY

hoped the House would allow him to take the Third Reading now.

Bill read the third time, and passed.
