HC Deb 17 July 1893 vol 14 cc1706-7
MR. W. JOHNSTON

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he has seen a suggestion in The Irish Catholic of 15th July that the Lord Lieutenant should erect another College, to be of the University of Dublin, for the special benefit of Roman Catholics, and to be endowed out of Crown Lands; and whether any negotiations for this purpose are at pre-sent going on?

MR. J. MORLEY

I have seen the paragraph in the publication mentioned which contains the suggestion in question. If any negotiations are in progress in the direction indicated, they are kept a secret from me.
