HC Deb 13 July 1893 vol 14 c1476
MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the address presented to His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant by the Corporation of Cork prayed for the release of prisoners in respect to whose sentences the Lord Lieutenant possessed the right of exercising the clemency of the Crown, or to prisoners convicted and imprisoned in England?

MR. J. MORLEY

The reference in the address of the Corporation of Cork appears to have been to the case of prisoners convicted and imprisoned in England.

MR. MACARTNEY

I should like to ask the Chief Secretary whether he adheres to the excuses made by the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in reference to this address?

MR. SPEAKER

Order, order!
