HC Deb 12 July 1893 vol 14 c1373
SIR CHARLES W. DILKE (Gloucester, Forest of Dean)

I do not see the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies in his place, but the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs is present. I do not know whether the Government can give the House any confirmation or the reverse of the grave news from Newfoundland which appears in this morning's papers, and which was not unexpected by those who have been following the course of events there.

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir E. GREY, Northumberland, Berwick)

I have not received any information on the subject.

Sir C. W. DILKE

I will put a question to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies on the adjournment of the House.
