HC Deb 11 July 1893 vol 14 c1286
MR. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he can state what measures the Government intend to drop this Session; and whether the Local Veto Bill and the Church in Wales and the Church in Scotland Bills are to be proceeded with this year?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

As the hon. Member must probably expect, I am not able to give any light whatever upon the course of Business with respect to measures other than the Government of Ireland Bill. When we see our way as to the Irish Government Bill and the completion of the Business of the House with respect to it, then, of course, we shall be able to make statements with regard to some other measures.

MR. MACFARLANE (Argyll)

Has not the time come when Business may commence at a quarter instead of half-past 3, thereby avoiding a waste of time?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

I will put myself in communication with the authorities on the subject.
