HC Deb 11 July 1893 vol 14 c1266
MR. HOPWOOD (Lancashire, S.E., Middleton)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whether Surgeon-Major King has been restored to the position from which he had been transferred for the use of lymph not now sanctioned by the Government; is the Government aware that the lymph in question is recommended in the Manual of Instruction on Vaccination, published by the Government in India, as formerly by the authorities here; and is the lymph in question variolous or small-pox in its origin, and how is it regarded by the medical advisers of the Indian Government?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Mr. G. RUSSELL, North Beds.)

The Secretary of State for India has no further information regarding Dr. King's case, beyond what was stated in my answer given to my hon. Friend on the 3rd instant. He will, however, ask the Government of India for information on the subject.

MR. HOPWOOD

I will repeat the question another day.
