My right hon. Friend has received the following telegram:— All concerned deeply grateful for kind sympathy and gracious message of Her Majesty. 124 bodies recovered, nine rescued alive, one since dead. Believed 13 bodies still in pit. Work recovering bodies proceeding as quickly as possible. Hope examine pit to-morrow. Write further to-day. Inquest next week.
