HC Deb 28 February 1893 vol 9 c567
MR. JEFFREYS (Hants, Basingstoke)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether representations have been made from time to time to the War Office by the Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth, as well as by the Chaplain and others at Hurst Castle, as to the absence of any proper place for holding divine service at that port for the garrison and coastguardsmen; and whether it is his intention to provide this necessary accommodation during the present year?

MR. WOODALL

The case has been represented, but considering the pressing requirements of larger stations it has not been possible to provide funds for the service.
