HC Deb 28 February 1893 vol 9 c570
MR. FIELD

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill this Session dealing with bogus clubs, which are mainly utilised for drinking purposes during illegal hours, but are not subject to supervisions nor penalties?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir W. HARCOURT,) Derby

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. As I said the other night, this is a question which it is very necessary to deal with. Whether or not it will be possible to legislate on the subject this Session I cannot at present say.
