HC Deb 27 February 1893 vol 9 cc433-4
SIR THOMAS ESMONDE (Kerry, W.)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works if it would be possible to lay down a riding track from Hyde Park Corner to the Marble Arch, inside the present railings; and, if so, whether he would have an estimate made of the probable cost of making it?

MR. SHAW LEFEVRE

It has always been the custom to lay down sand along the side of the road from Hyde Park Corner to the Marble Arch, during the summer, for the benefit of riders. The making of an additional road, as suggested by the hon. Baronet, would involve an expenditure of £10,000, and the cutting down of many ornamental trees.
