HC Deb 24 February 1893 vol 9 cc330-1
MR. COMBE (Surrey, Chertsey)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has received a Petition from the convict warders of Her Majesty's prison at Woking; and, if so, whether he will give it favourable consideration?

MR. ASQUITH

A number of Petitions have been received in the last few days from the officers of Woking Prison, which are at present under my consideration. As they are requesting a Tate of superannuation in excess of the Civil Service scale, and as this demand was fully considered and rejected by the Prison Warders Committee as lately as 1891, I cannot hold out much hope of their receiving a favourable reply.
