HC Deb 14 February 1893 vol 8 c1368
MR. FLYNN (Cork, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he has yet received from the Irish Office any communication relating to the statements of the Dublin Typo-graphical Society in reference to having the printing contracts for Irish Government Departments executed in accordance with the Resolution of this House of February 13th, 1892; and what action the Treasury Department intend to take in the matter?

*SIR J. T. HIBBERT

Since my answer to the hon. Member's former question, I have seen a newspaper report of an interview between the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant and a deputation from the Trades Council of Dublin. The matters complained of do not appear to have any relation to time Resolution of the House of Commons of February 13th, 1891, and it is therefore not for the Treasury to take any action.

MR. FLYNN

But has that portion of the Resolution as regards the payment of the current rate of wages been enforced?

SIR J. T. HIBBERT

The Department has issued instructions that it shall be attended to.
