HC Deb 10 February 1893 vol 8 c1035
MR. FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)

beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether it is the intention of the Government to import terra-cotta to be used in the buildings about to be commenced on the Curragh; and is the Fair Wages Resolution of this House enforced in his Department in Ireland?

*THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN,&c.) Stirling,

No, Sir; the War Office will not import any terra cotta. If any should be, required for the buildings at the Curragh the contractor will be at liberty to obtain it from Irish sources, provided the quality is satisfactory. The same precautions are taken in Ireland as in England to enforce the Resolution of the House referred to in the last part of the question.
