HOWELLI beg to ask the Parliamentary Secretary to the Colonial Office whether he is aware that the Statistical Abstract for the several Colonial and other Possessions for 1891 was not issued until 5th January of the present year; and whether it is not possible to present the Returns in that. Abstract at an earlier date in each year to the House?
§ MR. MUNDELLAI will answer the question. The Statistical Abstract for the Colonies was issued on December 19 and was on sale on December 21. The Abstract was later last year than usual because of the late arrivals of the Returns from a few of the Colonies. The particulars for Tobago had to be printed as an Appendix to the Return.
