HC Deb 27 December 1893 vol 20 c266
MR. COMBE (Surrey, Chertsey)

I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education whether he still proposes to put the ratepayers of Woking to the expense of a Board school capable of seating 200 children, whereas sitting room is already provided for all but 15 of the children, and the Vicar has offered to provide room for 25?

MR. ACLAND

The hon. Member is mistaken in attributing to me the proposal alleged in his question. I understand that negotiations have been proceeding between the School Board and the Vicar respecting the granting to the Board of new leases of the schools now occupied by them. If an agreement is arrived at it will not be necessary for the Board to provide any further school places, except possibly a small school for infants, to relieve the present pressure on the infant department of the Westfield School?
