HC Deb 12 December 1893 vol 19 cc1162-3
MR. WASON (Ayrshire, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been called to the fact that the poisoning of fish in the River Doon still continues, and that on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd instant, fish were found dead at various points of the river; whether he has any information of any civil action being raised with reference to the previous poisoning of the river; and whether he proposes to take any steps in the matter?

SIR G. TREVELYAN

I have not had my attention called to the continuation of the poisoning of fish in the River Doon, and, on inquiry, I find that the Fishery Board have no information as to any civil proceedings in connection with the previous case referred to by the hon. Member. I accordingly propose to remit the matter to the Board for inquiry and report.
