MR. GEORGE RUSSELLFrom June 27 to December 5 bills have been sold to the amount of Rs.1,48,57,751, producing £954,287. During the corresponding period in 1892 bills were sold to the amount of Rs.9,92,99,106, producing £6,175,397.
§ MR. GOSCHENCan the hon. Gentleman state under what authority the India Government is now borrowing by the system of Treasury bills in the European market? I have seen a statement that it has borrowed £500,000.
