HC Deb 17 August 1893 vol 16 c437
CAPTAIN SINCLAIR (Dumbarton)

I beg to ask the Home Secretary a question of which I have given him private notice—whether the statement which appears in The Star of this evening, to the effect that Dr. Gallagher, a prisoner in Portland, has been released on the ground of insanity, is accurate?

MR. ASQUITH

There is not a shadow of foundation for that statement. From reports which reach me Dr. Gallagher is a person in very sound health, and exhibits no trace of mental infirmity. There is no intention whatever to release him.
