HC Deb 15 August 1893 vol 16 c242
Mr. LONG (Liverpool, West Derby)

I bog to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has considered the Report of the Police and Sanitary Committee; if so, whether he is in a position to state what view the Government take of the proposals contained there in?

SIR C. W. DILKE (Gloucester, Forest of Dean)

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is a great difference of opinion upon this subject, that some of the great Corporations have taken up the case of Leeds which was before the Committee this year, and are likely to make representations on the subject?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE foe the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

Yes, Sir; the question is receiving careful consideration. I am not yet in a position to announce the views of the Government.
