HC Deb 11 August 1893 vol 16 c15
MR. MAGUIRE (Clare, W.)

; I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether his attention has been directed to the advantages afforded by Scattery Roadstead as a station for war-ships; and if he will consider the propriety of placing there Her Majesty's ship which is about to be sent to the Shannon?

SIR U. KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH

Yes, Sir; attention has been called to this and several other suggestions. But it is not at present intended to alter the stations of Her Majesty's ships on the coast of Ireland.
