HC Deb 18 April 1893 vol 11 c558
MR. WOODS (Lancashire, Ince)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in view of the publication of the Final Report of the Commissioners on Royalty Rents, he will cause a number of the said Reports to be circulated to Trade Organisations on receiving proper application; whether, in view of the great importance attached to this question by the country, the Government will allow an early day for a. general discussion of the Report and the recommendations of the Commissioners by the House; and whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to give effect, and, if so, in what manner, to the recommendations made in the Report?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. E. GLADSTONE,) Edinburgh, Midlothian

The Final Report of the Commissioners is not yet in the hands of the Government. We are, therefore, not in a position to form a judgment on the question whether it would be wise for us to take steps to have the Report circulated among Trade Organisations. I cannot give any information as to what action the Government may take on the Report.
