HC Deb 14 April 1893 vol 11 cc325-6
MR. T. M. HEALY (Louth, N.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether complaints have reached his Department that, under the new rates of the Great North of Ireland Railway Company the charges on linen and linen yarn are increased by sums varying from 45 per cent. to 145 per cent. in excess of the old charges: and what concession this company proposes on the rates? I should like to say that in my question I had given instances, but they were struck out by the Clerk at the Table.

MR. MUNDELLA

Yes, Sir; complaints as stated by my hon. Friend have reached the Board of Trade. Communications were at once addressed to the Great North of Ireland Railway Company, but I understand their proposals are not satisfactory to the complainants, and we have written again to the company.
