CAUSTON (Southwark, W.)I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education whether his attention has been called to the proposal to remove the Royal Foundation of Christ's Hospital to such a distance from London as would inflict hardships on the relations of the children to be benefited, and might considerably diminish the value of the reformed institution; whether he will inform the House by whom and to whom such a proposition has been submitted; and whether the Metropolitan Members will be afforded an opportunity of expressing their views 207 before any final decision as to site is arrived at.
§ *SIR W. HART DYKEI have no knowledge of the circumstances to which the hon. Member refers, but if he will look at Section 65 of the scheme he will see that the initiative in the matter is reserved to the Court of Almoners, subject to the approval of the Charity Commissioners.
