HC Deb 19 May 1892 vol 4 cc1294-5
MR. JAMES ELLIS (Leicestershire, Bosworth)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade what number of copies of the Illustrated Journal of the Patent Office was sold in 1891?

*THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Sir M. HICKS BEACH,) Bristol, W.

The number of copies of the Illustrated Journal of the Patent Office issued to subscribers in 1891 was 25,428, and the number otherwise sold in the same year—as far as can be ascertained without an examination of each daily voucher — was 16,250, making a total of nearly 42,000 copies sold during the year.
