§ DR. TANNERMight I ask the right hon. Gentleman the First Lord of the Treasury when he proposes to take the Vote on Account, and if there is any truth in the statement which is now being circulated that the right hon. Gentleman proposes taking a Vote on Account just before Whitsuntide so as to enable the business of the country 518 to be carried on up to next October, after the General Election?
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI am afraid I cannot state absolutely, without consulting the Secretary to the Treasury, when the Vote on Account will be taken; but it certainly will be before Whitsuntide, and I do not believe it will be necessary to take a Vote for more than a few weeks.
§ DR. TANNERIs Supply not going to be dealt with?
§ MR. A. J. BALFOUROh, yes.
§ DR. TANNERWhen?
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI cannot tell the date.
