§ MR. BRODIE HOARE (Hampstead); I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is taking any steps to prevent the recurrence of such an accident as recently happened at Hampstead Heath Station at that station and others at which there is a large holiday traffic?
§ *SIR M. HICKS BEACHI have not yet received the Inspector's Report on the Hampstead Heath accident, but I have been in communication with the Railway Company, and am informed that, although the plan has not been actually decided upon, such structural alterations will be made and increased means of access to the platforms provided before Whitsuntide, as will, it is hoped, together with other means taken by the Company, remove all risk of further misfortune. As regards other stations, I must refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave on the 28th ult. to the hon. Member for the Rushcliffe Division of Nottingham (Mr. John Ellis).
