JACKSONI am informed that the meeting referred to was not publicly announced, but the Police Authorities had reason to know that it was being arranged, and that its object was to denounce and intimidate certain persons who had taken evicted farms. They accordingly directed an information to be sworn, upon which the meeting was proclaimed.
