HC Deb 03 May 1892 vol 4 cc62-3

Order for Third Reading read.

Objection taken.

*THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Sir M. HICKS BEACH, ) Bristol, W.

I hope objection will be waived. There can be no objection to the principle of the Bill, and I may mention that I have had urgent representations from the West Biding of Yorkshire that the County Council are anxious to acquire the authority the Bill would give.

DR. CLARK

The right hon. Gentleman agreed to consider a clause extending the Bill to Scotland and Ireland. Taking the Bill now offers no chance of proposing that.

MR. MORTON

I do not want to stand in the way, but I hope in withdrawing my objection I may expect similar courtesy when I want a matter considered.

MR. MAC NEILL (Donegal, S.)

I object on the ground that the Bill does not extend to Ireland.

Third Reading deferred till Thursday.
