FOSTERI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if the non-seconding of Surgeon Colonel Godwin on promotion will deprive some district of the services of an administrative officer of similar rank while Professor Godwin holds the Chair of Surgery at Netley, and eventually reduce the already limited number of administrative appointments for Surgeon Colonels?
§ MR. E. STANHOPEThe decision not to second Surgeon Colonel Godwin was given while he was a brigade surgeon. The circumstances are changed by his promotion; and I will consider whether the reasons for non-seconding still remain in force.
