§ DR. CLARKI beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he is aware that, amongst the official notices in the Uig Post Office, a notice has been exhibited of the days on 1282 which rent will be collected on the Kilmuir Estate, and calling upon the tenants to come forward on the rent days and make payment of their rent and arrears, so as to put themselves in a better position with the estate; and whether the postmasters are permitted to use their premises for notices of this kind?
§ SIR JAMES FERGUSSONA notice such as that described was exhibited in the Uig Sub-Office; but it was removed by the sub-postmaster some days ago. It is contrary to regulations to put any private notices among the official notices.
