PATRICK O'BRIEN ((for Mr. BLANE,) Armagh, S.I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether it 892 has been the usual custom to give one-third of the grants for education to the assistant teachers; and, if so, whether Her Majesty's Government would recommend an additional grant of £70,000 to enable the Commissioners of National Education to pursue their usual rule of distribution?
