§ *SIR MICHAEL HICKS BEACHThe Board of Trade are acting upon 697 the recommendations of the Bulkheads Committee, and in every case in which they are satisfied that those recommendations have been complied with, they authorise a reduction of the life-saving appliances otherwise required by the Statute to be carried on board every British merchant ship.
