HC Deb 22 February 1892 vol 1 c879
MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN (Monaghan, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons have been convicted of treason felony in Great Britain during the past 10 years; and of those so convicted, how many have been released, how many have died in prison, and how many of those released have died or become insane?

MR. MATTHEWS

The number of persons convicted of treason felony in Great Britain during the past 10 years and received into English convict prisons under sentence of penal servitude is 23. Of this number four have been released; two have died in prison. I have no information as to the subsequent history of those who have been released from prison.
