I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if any suggestion was held out to the Royal Irish Constabulary or any of them of a bonus for special work during recent years, and was any recommendation of the kind made by the heads of the force to the Government?

I am informed that no suggestion of the nature indicated in this question was held out to the Royal Irish Constabulary by the authorities, nor was any recommendation of the kind made to the Government by the heads of the force.
