HC Deb 12 April 1892 vol 3 cc1237-8
MR. JEFFREYS (Hants, Basingstoke)

I beg to ask the Financial Secretary to the War Office if he will consider whether a suitable rifle range could be found on Salisbury Plain, where the land is exceedingly cheap and sparsely populated, instead of taking the proposed 800 acres for that purpose in the New Forest?

MR. BRODRICK

Sites on Salisbury Plain have been examined, but pending the result of the inquiry into the proposed New Forest range, which will be resumed next week, we are not in a position to enter into the discussion of other sites.
