§ MR. SUMMERSI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any, and, if so, what, steps have been taken to fill up the vacancies on the Senate of London University caused by the deaths of the Duke of Devonshire and Dr. Hirst?
§ MR. MATTHEWSI have submitted to Her Majesty the name of a gentleman to succeed the Duke of Devonshire in the Senate of the University of London. When Convocation has nominated their list of those persons to supply the vacancy caused by the death of Dr. Wood, I shall in due course submit to Her Majesty the name of a gentleman to succeed Dr. Hirst.
