HC Deb 11 April 1892 vol 3 c1096
MR. SEXTON

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Irish Local Government Board has been informed that, in the recent Poor Law election for the Caltan Division, Mohill Union, numbers of voting papers were wilfully spoiled by persons who visited the houses of the electors and obtained possession of the papers by threats, and many others were spoiled after they had been given to a constable for delivery to the Returning Officer; and whether a new election has been ordered?

* MR. JACKSON

Complaints of the nature referred to have been received by the Local Government Board. Careful inquiries on the subject are being made.
