HC Deb 11 April 1892 vol 3 c1124
MR. MORTON (Peterborough)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in consequence of Mr. John Hood being deprived of his means of livelihood through having given evidence before a Committee of this House, and therefore under the protection of this House, he will receive at the hands of Her Majesty's Government compensation for the loss he has sustained?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

I do not know any precedent for the course proposed by the hon. Gentleman, nor do I think it would be convenient to make one.
