HC Deb 04 April 1892 vol 3 c580
COMMANDER BETHELL (York, E.R., Holderness)

I beg to ask the hon. Member for Exeter, as a Charity Commissioner, whether the Commissioners have yet come to any decision as to the claims of Naval Officers to have the customs continued by which a certain number of the children of Naval Officers were admitted to the foundation of Christ's Hospital by special presentation?

SIR S. NORTHCOTE (Exeter)

The financial condition of Christ's Hospital during the present period of transition is not such as to admit of the imposition of any charges not authorised by the scheme lately approved by Her Majesty. When that period shall be expired the Commissioners will be ready to take the matter into favourable consideration.
