HC Deb 01 April 1892 vol 3 c482
MR. JEFFREYS

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the report in the Times of 30th March, that at the opening of the Queensland Parliament the Governor announced that the Government intended to introduce a Bill to give bonuses on the export of frozen meat; and whether such proposed legislation will receive the sanction of Her Majesty's Government?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Baron H. de WORMS, Liverpool, East Toxteth)

In answer to my hon. Friend, I have to say that I have seen the report referred to, but have no further information as to whether the Bill has been introduced or the terms of it. It appears, however, to be a matter within the competence of the Colonial Legislature.
