HC Deb 26 May 1891 vol 353 c1075
MR. FURNESS (Hartlepool)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether his attention has been called to the case of the unestablished postmen who have no Sunday relief such as the established postmen have; and whether he will take into consideration the desirability of placing the unestablished postmen on the same footing as the established postmen so far as Sunday relief and stripes are concerned?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES,) Cambridge University

I am not aware of any case in which postmen who are fully employed, whether established or unestablished, have not received Sunday relief. If the hon. Member knows, of any case, however, and will give me the particulars I will make inquiry on the subject. Good conduct stripes are only conferred upon postmen belonging to the establishment.
