HC Deb 04 May 1891 vol 353 c65
MR. M'CARTAN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Gaol at Downpatrick, County Down, has been discontinued as a convict prison; and whether the Prison Board intend to make any, and, if so, what, further use of it?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

The General Prisons Board report that the gaol at Downpatrick has been discontinued as a convict prison, but that the question of the future disposal of the building has not yet been decided.
