I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland how many appeals re fair rent were heard by the Land Commission, recently sitting in Cavan; and in how many of such cases the rent, as fixed by the Sub-Commissioners, was raised, and in how many lowered?

The Irish Land Commissioners report that at their recent sitting at Cavan there were 124 appeals listed, which were disposed of as follows: Judicial rent confirmed, 50; judicial rent raised, 43; judicial rent lowered, 2; appeals settled, 15; appeals adjourned, 3; appeals struck out, 2; originating notices dismissed, 5; dismissal of originating notice reversed, 1; judgment reserved, 3; total, 124.
