WATT (Glasgow, Camlachie)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Colony of British Guiana has been in negotiation with the United States of America, and also with the Dominion of Canada, with 1666 a view to the establishment of Reciprocity Treaties for commercial purposes; and, if so, whether he is now prepared to make any statement on the subject?

DE WORMS,) Liverpool, East ToxtethSuggestions have been made for reciprocal fiscal arrangements between Canada and certain West Indian Colonies, of which British Guiana is one; and the question whether this and other West Indian Colonies should enter into reciprocal arrangements with the United States has also been under consideration. The subject is receiving the careful attention of Her Majesty's Government, and it is not possible to make any statement at present.
