SMITHThe question of abolishing the property qualification required by law for Justices of the Peace has recently been discussed in the House of Lords, and a Bill for such abolition was rejected on its Second Reading. Under these circumstances, the hon. Member will understand that I cannot give such consent as he wishes. I am not aware of the existence of dissatisfaction such as the question suggests.
