HC Deb 10 March 1891 vol 351 cc595-6
MR. QUILTER (Suffolk, Sudbury)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether he can say what arrangements have been made for the provision of a suitable building for the new National Gallery of British Art?

MR. PLUNKET

The question of providing a suitable building for the new Gallery of British Art has been for some time engaging the careful consideration of the Government, and it is hoped that a satisfactory scheme may soon be agreed upon.

DR. FARQUHARSON (Aberdeenshire, W.)

What arrangements have been made for the reception of works of art?

MR. PLUNKET

It would be better not to enter into that subject at present. I hope to be able to make a fuller statement in a short time.
