PAGET (Somerset, Wells)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether it is the fact that Saturday next is the last day for the presentation of Petitions against the Railway Rates Provisional Order Bills, and whether the right hon. Gentleman will state the intentions of the Government in reference to enlarging the period?

HICKS BEACHI do not know whether Saturday is the latest day for the presentation of Petitions, but, if it is, I propose to ask the House to pass some Resolution like that it has passed with reference to the Water Bill, allowing all petitioners to be heard who apply five clear days before the opening of the Committee.
