HC Deb 02 March 1891 vol 350 c2046

Order for Second Reading read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Sir M. HICKS BEACH, Bristol, W.)

This is a matter which Her Majesty's Government must reserve the right of dealing with. I think my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Agriculture may possibly have something to say to a Bill which compels all corn to be sold by weight, while at present it may be sold by measure.

Question put, and agreed to.

Bill read a second time, and committed for Wednesday.
