HC Deb 30 June 1891 vol 354 c1861
MR. A. O'CONNOR (Donegal, E.)

I desire to ask the Postmaster General whether an old man of 80 years, named John Boyle, has now been engaged for 30 years in the Postal Service for Arranmore Island from Burton Port,; and whether, having regard to his great ago and failing sight, he could be awarded a pension?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES,) Cambridge University

In reply to the hon. Member, I have to state that John Boyle is contractor for the conveyance of mails by ferry boat between the Island of Arranmore and Burton Port on the mainland, a contract which he has held jointly with Neal Boyle for 12 years. As he is not an established Post Office servant, I regret that it is not in my power to procure him a pension.
