EVANS (Glamorgan, Mid)I beg to ask the Attorney General whether, having regard to Section 6 of "The Tithe Act, 1891," poor and other rates which had been assessed in respect of tithe rent-charge before the passing the Act, and which remain unpaid, are recoverable; and, if so, whether they are recoverable in the manner provided for recovery of such rates before the Act came into force?
§ THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir R. WEBSTER,) Isle of WightIn my opinion, poor and other rates due in respect of tithe rent-charge before the passing of the Tithe Act, 1891, can be recovered either under Section 6 of that Act or under Section 8 of the Act 7 William IV. and 1 Vict., cap. 69.
